The center of the secondary pattern created by the Irish Chain block was a perfect place to put a Paper Pieced heart. And then, I wanted to "punch" up the color, so I chose yellow and hot pink.

This baby quilt was made for Devyn, born February 16, 1998.
She is half Irish, so the Irish Chain was the quilt for her!

Quilt was designed in EQ3 made by Electric Quilt.
Yardage was purchased via the yardage calculator in EQ3.

Credit also goes to youngest DS, Greg. When he saw an earlier printout of the design, he thought that it needed some yellow squares in the perimeter. He is a tile setter and deals with a lot of the same layouts that quilters do. I took his advice and think that the addition of the yellow squares on the perimeter of the design gave it that added zip.
