PaperPieced Patterns

The MiniPalm and Pot that I found at
compuquilt.com (click Free Patterns) were just the thing
for the kitchen dining area. I have always been fascinated by
positive/negative images, so used that technique for the quilts.
I used the MiniPalms & Pot and eliminated the leaves on the stems. A little bit of appliqué on the stem block. The grid that you can see on the beige background is hand quilting! I had all the fabrics on hand. Thank you, friend, for the beautiful beige fabric. And, yahoo, found a place for one of my beloved paisley prints! |

I found these wonderful Panda & Bamboo PaperPiece patterns at Beth Maddocks' website http://piecebynumber.com and printed
them off. Beth has a lot of PaperPiecing patterns that she is offering, for
free. Thank you, Beth! (At Beth's site click on Free Block Patterns) I had all the fabrics on hand, except for the Oriental print which I picked up at the Broward Quilt Show on March 9. Everyone who sees it comments on how cute it is! And I, of course, agree. I used cotton batting, for the first time, in this wall quilt. I like the way it machine-quilted. And it lies very flat, without distortion. |
