Modified design - mini quilt in fabric

Mini wall quilt -- 11" x 11"
Heart block -- 6" x  6"
Rings, each  -- 3" diameter
Gold, green borders -- 1" each
Binding --  1/2"

In the mini quilt made in fabric, I made just the heart and the wedding rings from the original design.

Fused the rings to the completed PaperPieced heart block (with gold border) and machine-blanket-stitched around rings.  I made a "sample" machine-blanket-stitched wedding ring on muslin and was able to figure out where my sewing machine's text was going to be sewn and therefore was able to center the curved text on the real thing.

There is a shamrock in the left corner ... it is not "redwork" by hand, but, "green work" by machine.  Click here to see how I do "redwork" on the sewing machine.

The groom is 100% Irish...see below for the text that I put on the quilt's label.

May you be poor in misfortune,

Rich in blessings,

Slow to make enemies,

Quick to make friends,

But rich or poor, quick or slow

may you know nothing but happiness from this day forward.

...an Irish blessing
